- Issue the purchase order to verified suppliers that deliver in Bogotá and the Sabana. The supplier gets paid on the day delivery is confirmed.

The construction market in Bogotá
Bogotá held up its sales in 2026 while most regions declined, but housing starts fell. Projects that do break ground need to protect their cash, especially in social housing (VIS), where disbursements arrive later than materials have to be bought. In April 2026 Camacol Bogotá y Cundinamarca reported that 73% of the 920 active projects are VIS and that first-quarter cancellations rose 11.3%.
Where construction is happening
- Western Sabana (Mosquera, Funza and Madrid). The Regiotram de Occidente corridor, around 54% complete in June 2026 according to the department government, concentrates housing and warehouse projects.
- Soacha. The TransMilenio extension (phases II and III, 4.4 km and 5 stations) was around 80% complete in August 2026.
- Metro Line 1 corridor. Works passed 80% completion by June 2026 and keep driving urban renewal along the route.
- Chía and Cota. Mid and high-end housing projects with demand for finishes.
What to consider when buying materials in Bogotá
- Intermediate seismic hazard zone. Bogotá and the Sabana municipalities are in the intermediate zone under the NSR-10 building code. Require certified reinforcing steel and concrete with supplier traceability.
- Zoning. Bogotá’s land-use plan is Decree 555 of 2021. Environmental guidelines for the Sabana are under discussion, so confirm the rules in force with each municipality’s licensing office before committing to large purchases.
- Logistics. Loading restrictions and freight driving restrictions in Bogotá affect delivery windows. Agree on the delivery schedule with the supplier when you issue the purchase order.
Why buy materials on credit
- You keep the project’s cash for payroll, labor and progress.
- One line for several suppliers. Buy steel, concrete, masonry or finishes with the same credit line.
- The supplier gets paid on delivery. That makes it easier to secure availability and delivery times.
- Decision within 48 hours of receiving your complete documents.
